Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. Her most well-known work is her role as Emily Fields in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto she studied acting lessons after achieving the success of modeling and dancing. Mitchell landed several commercials and played guest roles in television shows before landing her first big part in the role of Emily Fields. She was praised for her abilities by critics as with fans. The popular actress later gained a reputation through screenplays such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. In the The psychological thriller 'You', which earned her with wider recognition. She is the author of an adult book called Bliss along in collaboration with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell's parents, Mark Mitchell (born April 10 in 1988) and Precious Garcia, raised her within Ontario Canada. She's of Filipina origin, while her father has Scottish/Irish heritage. Mitchell is also the relative of Lea Salonga - a famous musician and actress. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary for her early days before moving into West Vancouver Secondary. In the final stages of her teenage years, she was modeling for various businesses across the globe. She travelled to Barcelona and Bangkok prior to returning to Toronto to study acting.
